The genetic differences affect the ability of men to do or not a long and happy marriage, according to the results of a study conducted by Swedish researchers at the University of Karolinska, and published in the journal Proceedings of the national academies of sciences. According to this work, the fact that a man owns or non-variant “of the vasopressin gene” would have consequences on its ability to focus on one person. The work of the team of Dr. Walum have shown that men who have one or two variants of this gene have more harm than those who do not have to focus strongly on a person, and thus have a life torque smoothly.
In interviewing the wives of study volunteers, scientists have discovered that those whose husband wore this “bad” gene tended to describe a life as a couple more volatile than those whose husband was not carrying the gene.
According to the authors of the study, conducted among 1,000 couples, the variant of this gene expliquerait in part the difficulties of some men to lead a happy life together and focus on a woman. 40% of men are carriers of one or two copies of the variant of this gene. In addition, researchers suggest that this discovery is not applicable to women.
