Director of Laser and Laparoscopic Surgery
Dr. Carter is a Board Certified Gynecologic and Laser Surgeon who is on the staff at Saddleback Memorial Hospital and Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center. He is on the clinical faculty at UCI in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to his M.D., he received his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Minnesota.
In pursuit of advanced skills in the exciting new field of Gynecologic Surgery, Dr. Carter has attended operating room courses in Germany with Dr. Kurt Semm, father of modern operative laparoscopy; in Marietta, Georgia with Dr. Eddie Joe Reddick, pioneer of laparoscopic cholecystectomy; in Oregon with Dr. David Redwine, widely respected as the most knowledgeable of gynecologic Laparoscopists treating endometriosis.
Dr. Carter has performed over 200 advanced operative laparoscopic procedures during the past two years. He made a presentation of the surgical results of those cases in Barcelona, Spain before the International Society for Gynecologic laparoscopy. In addition to his other duties, he currently serves as Director of Laser and Laparoscopic Surgery at the Women’s Health Center of South Orange County, Inc.
