The pricipales causes may be:
A genital infection caused by sexually transmitted diseases, STDs (gonorrhoea, chlamydia ..) or other germs
A salpingitis, acute or chronic inflammation of the fallopian tubes, pipes connecting the ovaries to the uterus, most often caused by infections. Endometriosis gynecological abnormality in which the endometrial tissue covering the wall from inside the uterus and usually removed when the rules is found outside the uterus, such as the fallopian tubes. This development abnormal tissue outside the uterus prevents the progression of sperm.
An anomaly of secondary tubes caused after exposure to distilbene
Abnormalities of the uterus can also be the cause of infertility: fibroids, polyps, uterine malformations in women exposed to distilbene …..
The children of distilbene:
The distilbene is a drug that was prescribed to 200 000 women between the years 1950 and 1977 with a peak maximum use in the late 60’s and early 1970’s. This treatment was advised to avoid the occurrence of miscarriages.
It was banned in France in 1977, following numerous complications.
This treatment has caused side effects in children who were exposed during pregnancy of their mother:
Troubles of fertility (abnormalities of the cervical mucus, disorders of ovulation) in nearly a third of women who were exposed
Complications during their pregnancies (miscarriages, premature birth)
Anatomical abnormalities of the genitals, for example, a narrowing of the uterine cavity or a uterus T-shaped
Cancers of the vagina and cervix
Some psychiatric disorders ..
A significant number of women whose mothers took the distilbene during pregnancy will have no difficulty in having children and do not present problems.
The troubles of ovulation
The troubles of ovulation leading to a lack of production of an oocyte fecondable, are the most common cause of female infertility and concern over 30% of situations.
The anovulation: ovulation is totally absent
The dysovulation: ovulation may be present but of poor quality
Other diseases may cause a disruption of ovulation:
The anorexia nervosa
A gaining weight too fast
A hypothyroidism
A diabetes
Some kidney disease, liver or digestive… (non-exhaustive list)
The abnormalities of the cervical mucus
The cervical mucus is fundamental to the success of fertilization because it facilitates access “best” sperm.
During sex, millions of sperm are ejacules into the vagina and migrate to the fallopian tubes to reach the egg and fertilize
The first step is the crossing of the cervical mucus secreted by glands of the cervix
The sperm will cross the mucus to reach the uterus and the tubes through their mobility.
The cervical mucus filter sperm and retains only the most mobile, preventing weaker abnormal to continue their journey
Only a few hundred sperm reaching the fallopian tubes, where fertilization
A cervical mucus of poor quality can be a barrier to sperm and be the cause difficulties to conceive a baby.

Gelifiee, may represent a barrier to sperm and be the cause difficulties to conceive a baby.
The mucus may be of good quality but contain antibodies to sperm that allows the sperm grouping in preventing fertilization
Genetic abnormalities
The Turner Syndrome, chromosomal abnormality resulting in the absence of ovarian.
