The omega-6 found in vegetable oils contribute to lowering tension. Those who consume more have low blood pressure. This proves that a study conducted by researchers at the University of Shiga in Japan, published in the September issue of the journal Hypertension. These results may serve the fight against hypertension in the future.
The researchers tested the voltage of 4,680 people aged 40 to 59 years from several countries such as China, Japan or England, and have compared their diet. They have found that participants who consumed the most omega-6 were also those who had their blood pressure levels lowest. The relationship is even stronger among those who do not follow any particular regime or treatment against cardiovascular diseases.
Previous studies had shown that omega-3 fatty acids found in fish, protect cardiovascular disease. The role of omega-6 and the proportion it is advisable to consume each day are less known.
